Love Meditation

Close your eyes if you feel safe or focus your sight in a single point. Bring to your mind an image of an object that showed you the feeling of love lately. It could be the image of a beautiful Colorado sunset, of a colorful flower or a sturdy tree you remember from your last hike. It might be of a relative or a friend who radiates sweetness, of a kind gesture from your partner, an image of a random stranger that treated us with compassion. It could be the eagerness of your dog to see you coming back home, of a cat that came to rub themselves in your legs. It could be anything that love means to you.

Now bring that image from your mind into your heart, and imagine how the light coming from that image radiates to your whole body. Take a deep breath and feel it. Take a deeper breath and feel it once again.

Feel the emotion that comes with it, see how it feels like your body is a vessel and you have poured something in it. And what you poured created a sound that traveled to every part of your body and know that you own this process, you have decided to feel that love, to fill your body with it. You own this love. It's yours and you can bring it back whenever you need it, whenever you wish.

There might be thousands of things happening outside us but power is about realizing that we own how we react to them. We own how we feel about them, and the more conscious this process become, the more happy we are and the more helpful to the world around us we can be.

Take a deep breath, welcome movement back to your body, and open your eyes when you feel ready. Please be the change you want to see in the world.
